HIANN Sponsored Adaptive Skiing & Boarding Event

With Achieve Tahoe At Alpine Meadows Ski Resort

 When: Sunday, March 17, 2024 From 12:00 To 4:00

HIANN is again sponsoring a skiing event through Achieve Tahoe, another local non-profit organization, for any interested HIANN Brain Injury Survivor. The event will include ski rental equipment, lift tickets, and a personal lesson from expert Achieve Tahoe instructors. For those survivors with mobility disabilities, Achieve Tahoe will recommend one of the different skiing options as indicated in our photographs above. For those survivors without mobility or balance issues, Achieve Tahoe will provide individual lessons for boarders and skiers. Guests, family and caregivers are encouraged to attend to take pictures and provide transportation. This event is only being provided to survivors in good membership standing.  YOUR  MEMBERSHIP DUES MUST BE PAID BEFORE THE EVENT OR YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE.

 Lesson requirements include:

· You must provide your own form of transportation to the ski rental location at Alpine Meadows and then on to Alpine Meadows Ski Resort Achieve Tahoe office.

· If you are interested in an adaptive skiing lesson, you must not exceed approximately 185 pounds for sit down skiing. Achieve Tahoe provides all adaptive skiing equipment.

· There is paperwork to process for Achieve Tahoe. It must be completed and received no later than March 1. This will be sent to those that indicate they are interested in participating.

· It may be cold, so you must have proper clothing for a skiing adventure.

· You must make your formal reservation with Sue by February 21 at susanbaumruck@gmail.com or call/text (775) 771-2950. No reservations will be taken after this date.
