  • Head Injury Association of Northern Nevada 10101 Double R Boulevard Reno, NV, 89521 United States (map)

All members, guests, caregivers, family, friends and professionals are invited to join in the HIANN  speaker and support group program. We have two wonderful programs scheduled in the next two weeks. The first is with Veronica Spurlock Harmon and Dr. Tim Moore on “Vision, Learning, & Memory. How to Help Your Brain Remember Things When it Doesn't Want To”. You should know Dr. Tim and    Veronica from their past presentations which were very well received by our members and caregivers. There is no limit to the number of people that we can accommodate, so please feel free to invite anyone that you think would find our speaker’s topic of interest. Please send your reservation requests to Susan Baumruck at susanbaumruck@gmail.com or call/text (775) 771-2950. The only requirement is you provide Sue with your reservations and have the technology to access Zoom. We will send the Zoom link out for the meeting on Monday afternoon.

 When:  March 15 - 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Speaker: Veronica Spurlock Harmon, M.S. CCC-SLP, and Dr. Timothy Moore, Optometrist

Topic:  "Vision, Learning, & Memory. How to Help Your Brain Remember Things When it Doesn't Want To”. I read it, but I don't get it, is a commonality among people who have suffered a stroke or traumatic brain injury.  If you would like to learn how injury to the brain can affect reading, then join Dr. Tim and Veronica as they discuss strategies that can help the brain re-wire and create new neural pathways to improve reading skills and enhance overall visual processing.

Requirements: You must have the computer hardware and access to the internet to participate in this Zoom program.
